Mayor Munchkin - Land of Oz - Gulliver's World

As part of the launch of Land of Oz, a brand-new themed area at Gulliver’s World Warrington, I developed and introduced Mayor Munchkin, an original street theatre character designed to enhance atmosphere, guest interaction, and immersion within the land.

Mayor Munchkin serves as the eccentric and overenthusiastic leader of the Munchkin community, greeting families as they arrive, guiding them through the whimsical world of Oz, and delivering interactive moments of fun and mischief. The character was created to provide constant presence and personality in the land, adding life between ride experiences and acting as a bridge between attractions and themed storytelling.

Responsibilities included:

• Creating the character concept, costume brief, and core personality traits.

• Writing and directing a repertoire of in-character interactions, roaming games, and guest welcome routines.

• Training and briefing performers in improvisation, character embodiment, and site-specific performance.

• Working with the park’s entertainment and operations teams to ensure seamless integration with the guest flow and area theming.

Mayor Munchkin has become a standout addition to Land of Oz, offering continuous engagement and elevating the themed land from a visual experience into a truly live, interactive world.
